Welcome to my website.

I was born in 1940 in the village of Felton, in Northumberland and lived there until I married in 1966.

We moved to the town of Ashington and my family and I have lived there ever since.

Having tried various occupations I eventually settled for teaching in 1972 and worked in the profession for 30 years.

Now retired, I devote my time to painting. I have always been interested in art and began painting seriously in my late teens.

I paint exclusively in oils, as I like the way the medium allows me to explore the feel of a subject. I work from my studio at home and my paintings are contemporary in style.

I am always on the lookout for new subjects and enjoy painting scenes I see everyday, such as a beautiful sunset, a busy harbour or just a man on the street. I try to capture the essence of simplicity and turn it into an immortal picture to be seen and enjoyed by others.

I first began to exhibit my work in the Northumberland area in 1980 and over the years I have ventured further afield and now exhibit throughout the UK and occasionally in Spain.

To view samples of my work go to the exhibition page and details of where you can view it can be found on the galleries page.
